Dr. Marilyn Hinrichs (Audiologist) and staff at Advanced Hearing Center (AHC), a private audiology practice in Dallas, TX, visited Fiji and partnered with the Oticon Hearing Foundation and Project H.E.A.V.E.N. to provide audiological care and hearing aid fittings to underserved children in rural villages and schools.
Dr. Hinrichs and staff, in partnership with the Oticon Hearing Foundation, work to support nonprofit humanitarian initiatives to provide hearing care access for people and communities in need.
“We are proud to partner with the Oticon Foundation to provide audiology services to underprivileged kids. We are a company committed to addressing the hearing and balance needs of our patients, as well as working together to empower them with improved hearing and communication skills. We’re excited to work with an organization that shares our same beliefs and goals.”

The day was filled with soccer games, other outdoor sports, and arts and crafts. Though the events were fun, the main focus was on providing hearing care and education for the children and the staff that works at the schools.
“It was emotionally rewarding to fit the kids with hearing aids and quite heartwarming to see them smiling and playing afterward knowing that we helped to make a big difference in their lives,” noted Dr. Hinrichs.
“We plan on continuing to be a part of this ongoing project and similar events in the future, so we can use our expertise and Oticon products to better the hearing of those in need.”
Along with the charitable organization Project H.E.A.V.E.N., AHC provided hearing testing, cerumen removal, hearing aid fittings and ear care education to over 300 underserved kids in Fiji.
